Dallas and Ft. Worth share about the same weather, with winter being moderate - meaning chilly most mornings and mild in mid-day with a few days when snow falls. Summer, like now through September is hot to very hot 100F degrees is common and on rare summers 104-106 on a few days. Air conditioning is demanded and makes dressing somewhat awkward for many people as inside is so cold a light wrap is needed for comfort if not moving around but clearly not needed outdoors. Sun protection from burning and cancer risks should be automatic - hats and/or sun block.
Spring tends to be rainy and it is possible to have 3-4 inches in a local area over a weekend (like my back yard in Dallas) after no rain for several weeks. Periods of totally pleasant weather all day are rather rare - waking to just below room temperature (say 65) and not getting too high (say 78-80) will happen in fall and spring but not for very many days at a time.
Tornado risk is somewhat higher in Ft. Worth as nearer tornado alley, but in any case tornadoes are rarer here than up into Oklahoma. A greater risk to homes is hail storms which damage roofs and glass and cars.

Dallas is usually a degree or two warmer in the winter and a degree or two cooler in the summer compared to Fort Worth.
Summers here can be hot to brutal with some humidity, long daylight hours and high pollen count. Can be 90-100 from May-Oct but usually Jun-Sept with warm to hot nights. Cold fronts are sporadic. Fall is great usually when October finally arrives and have cooler nights. Winter can be just like fall but can freeze any time and can ice and snow from time to time. Usually will not stick to the pavement but can. Winters are dry and pleasant. Spring can be beautiful until the pollen comes in and is a reminder how ******* dreadful the summers are here. Also must worry about tornadoes, flooding, ice, straight line winds and drought.

Mike1942F has it about right. I would only add that you do somewhat adjust to a hotter climate, but unless you are a Vulcan, you never get away from the need for a/c in the summer. From about May until October, rainfall is sparse and the weather people may call it "severe clear" (no clouds--or very tiny, intense sunlight, and sometimes a bit breezy) although the breezes can be hot at times. Many transplants from the Midwest say that our winters barely qualify as such, being more like late Fall to them. We might get a snow or ice storm (many years we get neither) in the months of January or February--a stray one possibly later, but most of the time it is melted and gone in a day. Forget snow tires, chains, etc.

I came to Texas to try and live here now I can't wait to leave. The weather is silly hot. All people do is stay inside for air conditioning.
