About the time in Antarctica continent?
Hello & thanks previously. I heard that the night in that the place stay 6 months, and the sunshine stay 6 months too, and in my the internet search a found that the night stay 12 hours, and the sunshine stay 12 hours too in that place as any place in the earth, what be the true?
And if it stay 6 months, then when "the date" the night begin? and when "the date" the shine begin?
Be careful: my questions usually not difficult..
I feel that: there are things in a life be existed but not have definition, e.g. the god exist but not has specific definition, because it are meta, then it are vague, but everything controlled by the god, but how to treat the vague? or at least, how to treat the time if someone go to Antarctica?
I readed your answers, that true, but believe me, the nature become to surprise us by new gifts, where in the origin and factly Antarctica was say to us that my time is 6 months night, and 6 months sunshine, the now it say to us I hide new time that 12 hours for both the night and the sunshine, the god create secrets in everything, and when we care by the nature, then it will give us more and deserve gifts.. the nature become meta..

That is a problem in (Polar caps) Antarctica continent (& Arctic Sea).
At South Pole the Sun (in summer) goes round the horizon every 24 hours. Elevated most from the horizon on (local) summer solstice on Dec.22 & just straddling the Horizon on Equinoces. In (local) winter as the Sun is below the horizon it is night from March 21 to Sept. 23.
All longitudes emanate radially, from South Pole in all directions (to North - technically).
At other places along a longitude "L" the circle of Sun's path is tilted with the apex (Max elevation from horizon) reaching at noon & dipping to minimum elevation at midnight, for that longitude L. For example - on zero (Greenwich) longitude (L = 0 degrees) the timings are the same as on London.
In the (six month long) night follow the local longitude times.
Best to follow GMT (UT) for time reckoning as sunrise, noon or sunset don't mean a thing in Antarctica, irrespective of which part of the year or the day.
