I'd suggest something slightly more feminine since Sydney can be both a male and female name. Are there any family names or naming traditions you want to follow? What is the ethnic heritage of the child? You could go short and sweet (Anne, Grace, Claire) or longer and elegant (Victoria, Elizabeth, Elenore, etc.) or super feminine (Larissa, Arabella, Julianna, Gabriella), or go in an totally different direction with something short and modern or alliterative (Sydney Sage, Sydney Shay, Sydney Sabine).
