When applying for a UK university. Can I pay off my tuition fees with a bank rather for student finance?

You can, but the terms of a official student loan are very generous, and you will pay more, and sooner, with a bank loan.

Yes. You don't have to take out a student loan if you don't want to. If you can afford to pay it upfront, you can arrange a direct debit from your bank account to the university - you would usually need to pay each term or semester in advance.

I know Barclays and the other major banks do student loans, you ought to check them out.

Sure. If you can afford it.
