What is the ∆G°f for the weak acid, formic acid, HCHO2 at 298 K?

The Ka for formic acid is 1.8 × 10–4 at 298 K, the ∆G°f of H+ is 0 kJ/mol and the ∆G°f of formate ion, CHO2– is –335 kJ/mol.

    ∆G° = -RTlnKa

so calculate ∆G° for the reaction

then we also can calculate ∆G° from heats of formation

    ∆G° = (∆G°f(H+) + ∆G°f(CH2O-)) - ∆G°f(HCH2O)

since you know ∆G° solve for ∆G°f(HCH2O)
