Only if a mechanical part causes it to break. The water pump, hydraulic tensioner or one of the timing belt pulleys seizing up would be covered. The warranty company will do all it can to blame it on you not replacing the belt at the recommended interval before they cover the repairs. I'd pass on after market warranties and just take care of the vehicle properly!

Have you ever read the Terms & Conditions on an After Market Warranty? Have you ever tried to claim for repairs from an After Market Warranty?
Does yours exclude normal wear and Tear items such a brakes and tyres. Does it expect you to ensure that routine maintenance is carried out at the correct service intervals? When is the timing belt due to be changed? Have you changed it? Don't wait for it to break; change it.

It "should", as long as the belt has been replaced according to it's schedule.
Of course if you do that, it's VERY unlikely it will break.
But you need to check the fine print in the warranty. Some are not really worth the paper they are printed on.

I'm sure they'd give you a new belt if it breaks within the warranty period but I highly doubt they'll pay for repairs to your engine.
