People mostly believe the worst and if is something is repeated enough people tend to believe it's true without supporting evidence.
I've been very interested in the topic since the OS was released and in that time there hasn't been a single bit of data to prove it, just heaps of accusations. You'd think it would be easy. Simply record the telemetry collected on a Windows 10 PC that's used normally and expose all the private information collected. A whole year later and nothing has been reported. It's baffling to me since it would be the story of the decade and end debate once and for all.

Windows programs have been spyware programs since windows 95 was first put on the market. Or haven't you noticed this program called a cookie file. That's how Microsoft and other websites track where you surf.

It sends a ton of information to Microsoft without asking the user, so yes, it's spyware in a strict sense.

That's right, its not. Maybe. no. maybe. no, NO. The people who say such things are themselves EXTREMELY PARANOID - because they conduct in illegal activities behind the scenes and would say such things without any evidence to back up such claims. Its the Sn0wd0n effect and a series of questions that follows in regards to Windows 10;
- why are Microsoft pushing Windows 10 on Windows 7 users?
- why is Microsoft collecting information on me?
- for ads purposes? Oh that sounds reasonable.
- oooh the FB! gaining backdoor entry into Windows 10 computers - is this true - can anyone confirm this?
- NOT TRUE FOOL
- Paranoid idiots
Ask the question of 2 plus 2 and you come up with the answer 5, however its better to err on the side of caution. Yes, what they're doing is assuming otherwise and that's why there's been no EVIDENCE of it.
- Could you imagine if there was?
- Oh stop.
- Tin foil hat too tight for ya?
- Maybe....

We are M$. Resistance is futile. Your puters and lappies will adapt to service us. We will add your technology to our own. M$ has announced that Windows is NOT a top priority. Pushing people to use the cloud and mobile has become their main focus now. The truth about 10 is coming out.
Quoting a story by Ed Bott is like asking the Devil if God exist. I have followed Ed for years and can honestly say he has never had one bad word for anything that M$ produced. He even claims that Vista and 8 where HUGE successes. LOL
First lets look at the fact that France has informed them they are in violation of there privacy laws.
"Because this telemetry gathering is excessive by definition, Microsoft is in breach of the Data Protection Act. It also fails to inform users of exactly which data Microsoft stores and collects or how that information is used. Microsoft’s unique advertising ID is active by default and is therefore in breach of the Data Protection Act as well."

It phones how even when told not to.

Then there is the forced updates that occur and reset all your privacy settings.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2949621/windows/win...
When your privacy settings are reset then M$ goes right back to key logging and everything else it says it is not doing.
http://boingboing.net/2015/08/03/windows-10-defaul...
Then there is the fact that M$ has declared that Windows is longer their priority, making you use the cloud is.

Lets not forget that they used malware to install it on people systems.

I could go on and on but 10 is spyware masquerading as an OS.
With Windows 10, M$ owns your system.
YOU can no longer pick the updates you want installed.
THEY by default can choose which drivers are installed.
THEY can choose what THEY want on your system.
THEY even installed a backdoor in it so THEY can SPY on you at all times.
Windows 10 by definition does have a back door. You CAN NOT STOP it from phoning home nor can you stop it from installing or deleting anything it wants.
From Computersecurity wikia:
A backdoor is a means of access to a computer program that bypasses security mechanisms. (WINDOWS 10 data collection bypasses all firewalls) A programmer may sometimes install a backdoor so that the program can be accessed for troubleshooting or OTHER PURPOSES. However, attackers often use backdoors that they detect or install themselves, as part of an exploit.
From Wikipedia:
Spyware is software that aims to gather information about a person or organization without their knowledge and that may send such information to another entity without the consumer's consent, or that asserts control over a computer without the consumer's knowledge. Spyware is mostly classified into four types: system monitors, trojans, adware, and tracking cookies. Spyware is mostly used for the purposes of tracking and storing Internet users' movements on the Web and serving up pop-up ads to Internet users.

For the same reason that Microsoft shills ask flame-bait questions like the one that you've asked here.

Yeah, Apple said the same thing. They defended terrorists by refusing to unlock their phone (because they didn't want sales to drop), and then they help imprison the owner of KickAssTorrents because he provides to you for free what they will charge you an arm and leg for. (Once again, for sales) They are not for you, they are for themselves. They want your money, and they will kiss your butt to get it. Whichever butt has the most money.

Because they have made their tinfoil hats too tight.
