A job I had gave me a Google mail account. When I left, they disabled my password.?

The problem is, the account is still there, and there is no option to delete it from anywhere. Worse, it is now the account that presents itself when I open Gmail, and I can't close it to open another Gmail. I have to use another browser to do so.

How can I close this account when I can't log in to it anymore?

Go to the main Google page and sign out.

Then when you come back it will have no idea who you are, and you can create a new account for yourself.

Some companies do this instead of deleting it. Call the company and ask them about the password change.
