Mobile home non-working sockets?

My aunt's mobile home has issues with certain sockets not working. Last night, while I was watching a movie with her, the fan just turned off. I tested both top and bottom to no avail. The sockets along that whole wall are dead. Just seconds before, my cousin plugged a hot plate into the same socket, which makes me think this overloaded it. I checked he circuit breaker and it wasn't tripped. What could be the issue?

When this happened before, the socket started working again about a week later. She thought nothing of it. Thanks. :)

Classic symptoms of loose connections at one or more of the outlets on that circuit. It will only get worse and can result in a fire.

The wire, receptacles and labor practices use in (older) Mobile homes is scary in my opinion. Even late model homes are just adequate in my opinion.

Very good chance the wires are connected to the receptacle by being pushed into small holes in the back. Not much contact area. Second problem is the receptacle itself is used to pass current to the next one in line. So if any one of the connections fails, power to all other receptacles down the line goes out. And then the receptacles themselves are the cheapest on the market. 39 cents or less.

My solution is to get better quality receptacle and to then pig tail the circuit wires so that each receptacle is then attached To the Circuit, not a part of the circuit.

A good Electrician can make the change in 10 minutes or so provided the isn't any furniture in the way. 5 or 6 outlets on the circuit = 1 to 1.5 hour service call. Or you can learn how to do it yourself and save some $$.

If it's going off and on by itself, you may have a loose connection in that socket. Check it!

Is it a switched outlet? Try plugging something in and then turn on switches.
