"anti-gay" --- What does that even mean. Just like when people say "I support gay rights"

These are just catch-phrases, pop-culture references.

Hardly anyone takes the time to define these things.

So am I 'anti-gay' -- NO. What that means to me and you -- probably something different.

So as always, clarify what you mean, before you ask it.

    _______________

So... I'll rephrase your question to what I THINK you actually meant...

"Theists, would you still believe that homosexual sex acts are immoral if your religion was telling you living a homosexual lifestyle was great?"

So here's the issue with your question, as you stated it, or as I THINK you intended it.

You dramatically oversimplify the situation and misunderstand WHAT is the issue.

My faith isn't anti-gay, it is against:

    - promiscuity in general.

    - sex outside of marriage, (heterosexual OR homosexual it doesn't matter)

    - the view that our bodies are just biological machines which we can do what we want with

    - the view that sex is just an act that 2 consenting adults can choose to do, with no consequences

    - co-habitation of couples before or outside of marriage

    - lust (porn and objectifying the human body)

    - the disconnect between sex and procreation which promiscuity and living together promotes

    - the de-evolution or devaluing of the state of Marriage to being just about personal commitment and feelings

    - abortion as the logical next step when artificial birth control fails (see separation of sex and procreation)

Promoting homosexual lifestyle as 'great' would require all the above changes. Not just 1 simple change, but a complete fundamental change in my faiths beliefs about human sexuality and our relationship to God.

And if you notice, most of those apply equally, if not MORE to heterosexual couples.

What I want to underscore is that this is a complex moral issue that is not as simple as merely flipping a switch from Bad to OK.

Theists are not anti-gay though, God's will is always at the heart of every action of the followers of God, regardless of what the society says.

God NEVER contradicts His Holiness and His Word.

As one of Jehovah's witnesses, that would never happen! Jehovah will condemn every homosexual that does not repent & turn around. But he will forgive those who do & stay that way!

Not all theists are anti-gay. More and more Christians are changing their minds about what they've been told in the past by their preachers. God wouldn't create a gay person and then condemn them.

That is the Devil worshipping religion!

Not mine! I am with GOD and GOD's LOVE!

Followers of the Devil can only feel Lusts for just what each one of them wants for him/her self!

  • Our God is just and righteous. He would never allow something abnormal to be considered normal. But beyond that, you don't need any religion or belief system to see how wrong homosexuality is.

    Surah Fussilat:

"Soon We will show them our signs in the (farthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?"

    [Al-Quran 41:53]THEORY OF PROBABILITY

In mathematics there is a theory known as ‘Theory of Probability’. If you have two options, out of which one is right, and one is wrong, the chances that you will chose the right one is half, i.e. one out of the two will be correct. You have 50% chances of being correct. Similarly if you toss a coin the chances that your guess will be correct is 50% (1 out of 2) i.e. 1/2. If you toss a coin the second time, the chances that you will be correct in the second toss is again 50% i.e. half. But the chances that you will be correct in both the tosses is half multiplied by half (1/2 x 1/2) which is equal to 1/4 i.e. 50% of 50% which is equal to 25%. If you toss a coin the third time, chances that you will be correct all three times is (1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2) that is 1/8 or 50% of 50% of 50% that is 12½%.

A dice has got six sides. If you throw a dice and guess any number between 1 to 6, the chances that your guess will be correct is 1/6. If you throw the dice the second time, the chances that your guess will be correct in both the throws is (1/6 x 1/6) which is equal to 1/36. If you throw the dice the third time, the chances that all your three guesses are correct is (1/6 x 1/6 x 1/6) is equal to 1/216 that is less than 0.5 %.

Let us apply this theory of probability to the Qur’an, and assume that a person has guessed all the information that is mentioned in the Qur’an which was unknown at that time. Let us discuss the probability of all the guesses being simultaneously correct.

At the time when the Qur’an was revealed, people thought the world was flat, there are several other options for the shape of the earth. It could be triangular, it could be quadrangular, pentagonal, hexagonal, heptagonal, octagonal, spherical, etc. Lets assume there are about 30 different options for the shape of the earth. The Qur’an rightly says it is spherical, if it was a guess the chances of the guess being correct is 1/30.

The light of the moon can be its own light or a reflected light. The Qur’an rightly says it is a reflected light. If it is a guess, the chances that it will be correct is 1/2 and the probability that both the guesses i.e the earth is spherical and the light of the moon is reflected light is 1/30 x 1/2 = 1/60.

Further, the Qur’an also mentions every living thing is made of water. Every living thing can be made up of either wood, stone, copper, aluminum, steel, silver, gold, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil, water, cement, concrete, etc. The options are say about 10,000. The Qur’an rightly says that everything is made up of water. If it is a guess, the chances that it will be correct is 1/10,000 and the probability of all the three guesses i.e. the earth is spherical, light of moon is reflected light and everything is created from water being correct is 1/30 x 1/2 x 1/10,000 = 1/60,000 which is equal to about .0017%.

The Qur’an speaks about hundreds of things that were not known to men at the time of its revelation. Only in three options the result is .0017%. I leave it upto you, to work out the probability if all the hundreds of the unknown facts were guesses, the chances of all of them being correct guesses simultaneously and there being not a single wrong guess. It is beyond human capacity to make all correct guesses without a single mistake, which itself is sufficient to prove to a logical person that the origin of the Qur’an is Divine.

CREATOR IS THE AUTHOR OF THE QUR’AN

The only logical answer to the question as to who could have mentioned all these scientific facts 1400 years ago before they were discovered, is exactly the same answer initially given by the atheist or any person, to the question who will be the first person who will be able to tell the mechanism of the unknown object. It is the ‘CREATOR’, the producer, the Manufacturer of the whole universe and its contents. In the English language He is ‘God’, or more appropriate in the Arabic language, ‘ALLAH’.0 Thumbs up 1 Thumbs down Comment

It was clear to me by now that studying Islam was one thing – and absolutely worthwhile, because it helped me grasp the meaning of the religion and how it all fitted together. However, I felt as though I was standing in front of a shop window full of lovely things, and all I could do was admire them from afar. I was still separated from them by the window, or, as Muslims might say, a veil. In order to lift this veil, there was only one way forward: to get down onto the prayer mat and start living according to Islamic principles.”

― Kristiane Backer, From MTV to Mecca: How Islam Inspired My Life This gigantic project has been initiated by a UK born British turned Muslim lady. Ghufran Qureshi.

The start of the Sirat-ul-Jannah project is an interesting and inspiring episode and it cropped up after Mrs. Ghufran Qureshi, who hails from a prosperous British family, had a love marriage with Muhammad Ahmed in England in 1975 and embraced Islam after being inspired by its teachings.

After marriage she started in depth study of the religion which brought a total change in her and as a staunch Muslim she decided to live a prosperous life.

During her job in an orphanage house in Britain, she had become fully accustomed with the difficulties and problems of orphans and their psychology. She resigned from her job in protest against non-provision of Halal food to Muslim orphans in the orphanage.

She came to Pakistan in 1992 and announced this gigantic project to take care of orphan boys and girls, to provide them Islamic education in a clean and religious atmosphere besides imparting modern knowledge.

for the last 20 years she is providing food, Shelter, Education, Vocational training and even providing funds for marriages of the orphan girls. two hundred orphans are receiving RS.1000/= per month as educational assistance at their own localities.

Present orphanage and Masjid Imam-e-Kabah was constructed by the help of Allah (S.W.T) within a record period two years costing over Rs.100 Million. The British lady has faced tremendous hardship and difficulties after accepting Islam and finally migrated to Pakistan and decided to devote the rest of her life for Charity work. Now working 24 hours with full confidence the evidence for that is that Allaah has described in the Qur’aan the stages of the creation of Adam. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Verily, the likeness of ‘Eesa (Jesus) before Allaah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: ‘Be!’ — and he was”the religion of Tawheed (monotheism, affirmation of the Oneness of Allah). Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:85].

Religion is also a process of healing, I discovered – a healing of the soul. Even our language points to this relation. The words ‘holy’, ‘wholesome’ and ‘healing’ all have the same root. "Nor do I absolve my own self (of blame): the (human) soul is certainly prone to evil, unless my Lord do bestow His Mercy: but surely my Lord is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." [12:53]

and for you to see how sexuality can be dangerous I refer you to Joseph --peace be upon him-- who asked Allah to save him otherwise even him might not remain safe:
