    Water - if you are cooking with other ingredients

    Milk- if plain

    Water + milk - to dilute the thick milky taste

    Have plain oats with muesli or Kellogg's

    I use water and after its cooked I add a little cream to it.

    Milk boils at a low point and you'll end up just wasting and burning it.

    Doesnt matter really but if you want to add milk use skim milk, or almond, soy, coconut milk
