Mormons, whom do you consider Jehovah/Yahweh to be? Please give some detail.?

Update:

mosskepf, Re: ""Word" is a nonsensical translation of LOGOS; it should read spokesman." Sorry, that's just wrong. Strong's concordance: https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexic...

Update 2:

supernovamike11: If Elohim and Jehovah are two entirely distinct beings, then who is Elohim Jehovah יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים translated LORD God (KJV) in Gen 2:2,4,5,7,8, etc and throughout Genesis, and Exodus 4:5? King Josiah's purported change was long after the Pentateuch was written.

While yours is the best representation here of LDS thinking (as far as I have been able to determine), I do not endorse the answer as correct teaching about God.

When I hear the name "Jehovah" I think primarily of Jesus Christ. This is the Being who, under the direction of God the Father (a.k.a. "Elohim") created the Earth and acted effectively in the name of God throughout the Old Testament. As He continues to do today. He is the one that was born to Mary and sacrificed his mortal life as a payment for the sins of the world.

Jehovah is the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, the premortal Jesus, the Son of God.

Jehovah was the spokesman for God, and he helped create the Earth.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a God... without him was not anything created that was created."

"Word" is a nonsensical translation of LOGOS; it should read spokesman. Jesus was Jehovah, the angel of the Lord, the spokesman for God.

King Josiah rejected the older traditions of a Son of God and melded Jehovah with Elohim. He had the brass serpent, which represented the Son of God, taken out of the Temple and melted down. Scriptures were changed to reflect the new point of view. Margaret Barker, a Christian historian, and a Methodist, has written quite a bit about the two Gods of Israel in the First Temple tradition. I recommend reading her books for further insight.

I can t give you details but I ll first tell you that Mormons don t believe in the trinity ie like Jehovah Witnesses they believe Jesus,God, and the Holy Ghost are three separate entities. Unlike Jehovah Witnesses they believe that Jehovah was actually Jesus Christ before his birth.

A person can know with certainty the Catholic Church is the One True Church if they recite the angelic psalter of the Blessed Virgin daily and with care.
