If we took 50 3-year-old boys and 50 3-year-old girls in a room with lots of toys, what do you think would happen?

It's kind of a gender experiment.

Let's say these toys are very diverse, they have trucks, guns, dolls, pots and pans, blocks, balls, strollers, animals, all that.

And lets say they come in all different colors, blue, pink, purple, red, green, black, etc.

What do you think would happen?

a) boys would choose the "boy toys" and girls would choose the "girl toys"

b) boys would gravitate towards blue toys and girls would gravitate towards pink toys

c) a and b

d) other

and why???

This experiment has been tried many times actually. If they have other children present in the room, the boys will play with "blue", "boy" toys and the girls will play with "pink" "girl" toys in general.

However, if you isolate each child and make them think no one is watching, the child will play with both toys.

This experiment indicates that children are pressured to play with the toys that are designated for their gender by society, and that children would actually play with both toys when no one is watching, or if they think no one is watching.

However, I noticed you said 3 year old children, that is likely too young for pressures to be bothering them, so they will likely play with both toys even with other toddlers present

I have a friend who has 2 year old male who is into toy cars - he sleeps with them like teddy bears - it's incredible. I suspect you would find many who want gender specific toys even that young and some who don't follow at all.

My kids, a boy and a girl, played with everything. They both liked stuffed toys, games and hot wheels.

The Jewish kid would rent out the toys to the other children for a huge profit.
