Lying about your prior military service?

Has anyone ever gotten away with lying about being prior service and just walk up to a recruiter and say "here I am".? I don't wanna hear about the bull **** that you can go to prison and what not. we all know the army would much rather give out non-judicial punishment's. Cops can also shoot deserters but you won't find a case of that happening. So with that just let me know: Has anyone tried it? If so has anyone gotten away with it?

PS. Me and a buddy are betting in this, I am in favor for one getting away with it, my buddy os not. Thanks!

I don't really understand your question.

"Prior service"? Meaning what exactly ? Are you trying to reenlist as prior service ? If so, a few strokes on a keyboard will show that that person was NOT prior service.

Or just claiming military service ? Again, a few strokes on a keyboard will prove if that is true or not.

Sorry, the answer is no, you will never be able to pull it off with a recruiter. Or even another veteran. You lose the bet dude.

That could happen back in the 60s and before and even in the early 70s to some extent but not now. Back then and before they had computers and kept large data bases there were instances of people being kicked out of one service only to enlist in another and serving honorably. It could not happen now though because all the military services have a central data base for tracking things like this and if you are kicked out then that is in that data base for other services to see when they input any information surrounding you and you show up in it as being ineligible for enlistment. That data base also interacts with others as well that law enforcement uses and inputs things into.

If you have prior service it will be on the databus the recruiter will find out in a few seconds.

Yeah, I remember my first beer too.

Eat something bro, and sober up....you're talking gibberish.

If you claim prior service, the first thing they will do is look that up.

The second thing they will do, is kick you out of the office for being an idiot and wasting their time.

They log everything under your SSAN so all they have to do is look it up.
