Yes. As an ICU nurse, I see life-threatening complications of diabetes all the time. It is so very important to keep your diabetes under control!!

Untreated it is but with proper diet, exercise and insulin supplements one can live a relatively normal life. There is also quite a bit of variability, Type 1 and Type 2 are a little different and there are different levels of severity.

If you let the diabetes control you, then yes its dangerous. If you control your diabetes, then no its not dangerous.

If you don't stick to healthy eating and exercise like I have to do then it can be dangerous
