Should middle schoolers be in relationships?

They should not be in relationships, they are not mature enough for those emotions and responsibilities and that's not a negative to them, its just a fact of life. That's why there are something things that have a basic age before your allowed to do them. Middle schoolers should have friends, even best friends with boys and/or girls but relationships should wait until they are older. In the mean time they should focus on school and being kids there's no reason they need to act adult and take on adult roles when they are not ready for that.

Not in my mind and neither of my kids were. I think parents that encourage that behavior becouse it's so cute, and yes. They are all over the place. Are doing their kids a disservice. There is plenty of time for dating in highschool and college when parents are going to have little to say anyways. Up to and through that point the emphasis from the parents should always be on the academics and the activity that keeps them out of trouble.
