Am I the only one who can't picture what the characters look like when I read a book?
It's doesn't matter how fast I read, who the author is, or how detailed the descriptions are- it's nearly impossible for me to visualize the characters in a book. Once I've seen the movie, however, I always picture the actor's face.

I'm sure a lot of people are the same.
I usually get a vague idea of what they look like, but I don't need to 'see' a face at all. I find it's enough to imagine their personalities, expressions, etc. A specific face isn't important to me.

I deliberately write sketchy character descriptions in fiction. I hope the reader will fill in the details by imagining the character looks somewhat like someone they know.
