I'm 13 and I don't want to go out to dinner with somebody I know what do I do? Please read all.?

So I'm 13 and I was asked out to dinner by a boy that I don't want to go out with. I don't want to go out with anybody as I think that dating at this age is extremly stupid. It wasn't classified as a date though, so I cannot say I'm not ready. This is the text I got last night, "Want to go to Friendly's any day after September second? Our parents can drop us off." I mean I think this is kinda weird because you don't just ask a friend out to dinner. I've only talked to him at band camp for like a week only because he was the only other person my age and he's pretty nice. Like he's a nice kid, but that's awkward and I'm not looking to get into anything. What do I do?

Just tell him that you don't want to go. Don't overthink it. In my opinion, he truly wants to go as friends and just wants to hang out with you.

um, just say "I prefer group activities to going out with just one guy, my folks would probably consider that a date and not be too keen"
