Because Yahoo is stupid. Yahoo would say (using logic on us), if the person is anonymous, it's not possible for you to know who the person is, and so, there is no way for you to block the person. Well, whoever the person is, Yahoo should allow us to block that person, because that person may very well be harassing us. Just because he is anonymous does not mean we should not be allowed to block him. Yahoo needs to edit their website to allow us to block him, instead of telling us that it's because he's anonymous, and therefore, our profile can't know who it is you are blocking.

Because you could find out their identity. If you block someone, they show up on your blocked list. You'd be able to view their profile. So you'd know who they were, who posted what, and it'd defeat the entire purposed of the anonymous feature.
