Vaudeville Villain vs. Madvillainy...better album?

Both considered classics....at least in my eyes....some say one is better than the other and the one chosen often varies....which one you believe is the better album and why?

BQ: Which had the more memorable tracks?

I just enjoy the production much more than Madvilliany, it's bumpy, upbeat, and a bit grimey, MF DOOM is actually smooth as butter on this album and I can actually listen to him. It seems like he's more coherent, you can clearly understand what he's saying because he's pumped up ...like he was just railing 'donut lines' between every track. Whereas on Madvilliany it was harder to listen to, not only because the production, or horrible flowing, but the fact that he was basically slurring the entire album. The intros, they are much better on here as well, reminds me of GZA and GFK a lot.

People hear the name Madlib, instantly drop to their knees, and praise him as if he's a god, but I've actually never enjoyed him, ever. I'd rather stab my ears with a knife on each side

Source(s): BQ: Vaudeville Villain. I thoroughly enjoyed it, this album is 10/10 in my opinion, his very best. I loved every single track off VV, especially Can I Watch, just love the beat, the piano.. It's f*cking beautiful. Lactose and Lecithin, the creepy, UFO-Alien, type beat really attracts me for some reason, I guess that's why I enjoy new school rappers so much.

Lyrically, Vaudeville Villain could probably take Madvillainy. But as an overall album, Madvillainy. Not saying that Madvillainy isn't lyrical, but DOOM seemed to set the bar to an all-time high on VV. These are DOOM's best albums, though. But overall, Madvillainy all the way.

I just really think that Vaudeville Villian is a much more enjoyable album and more flowing together album. The way that he paints the words together lyrically Is beautiful, I can enjoy it a lot. Also the production is actually more enjoyable, I forgot what song it was but there was a beat like UFO. I know you think I'm copying CCV but It just so happens we had the same taste.

Madvilliany is a lyrically great album, but the production wanted me to throw up and fúcking make myself shoot myself with that handgun I have under my bed, It's just that damn bad, I hated it, I could not stand it at all.

Don't think I'm copying CCV, Me and him have a lot of the same tastes...

Good comparison... But I think I go with the *popular* choice here and say Madvillainy. Vaudeville Villian is great but to me Madvillainy has more replay value and I find myself listening to it more. I also think the production is a little bit better.

Well, only one of these albums has a song where DOOM raps over a Stevie Wonder-penned jazz instrumental, so I have to go with that one.
