What does jumping off a building feel like?
Everyone relax, I'm not suicidal. I'm writing a novel and the character's love interest is gay and attempted suicide off a building but survived with brain damage. What does it feel like to experience the following:
1. Physically jump (falling through the air what thoughts would the person have?)
2. Hit the concrete (and would a person black out/die instantly or can they feel the pain of smashing the ground first?
3. What would hitting the ground feet first feel like vs head first? I've heard feet first causes the legs to be broken and pushed up through the abdomen. Yikes!

1) According to the psychiatry field, people who survive a suicide attempt by jumping from a height always regret their decision on the way down. However I've never established that as either a fact or an urban legend, so will remain open minded about it. By extension the premise is the ones who didn't survive also felt they had made a mistake, but by then it's too late to change their mind.
2) The pain would be felt but only for an instant, however for whatever reason, in situations like that time seems to slow down and that pain is experienced for an interminably long time. That fits with my own experience when a car fell on me. The pain was excruciating and it just seemed to rip through my body. The pain was still there after the fall stopped but was no longer being magnified.
3) Similar to #2 but quicker and less severe. The brain itself is unable to experience pain because there are no nerve endings inside the skull. Only your scalp, eyes, ears, nose, etc. contain the nerve endings.

Well first of all his stomach would drop and he would probably die of cardiac arrest before he hit the ground because of shock and horror. he would immediately regret his decision and if he doesnt die of shock he would be in extreme pain if he hit the ground feet first and would probably pass out.head first would be painful for a millisecond and he would black out
