Chances of me going to prison ? (driving me crazy)?
me and my cousin got into a fight in Manhattan.
a dude approached me and my cousin in a car, banged and yelled at us through the window, tried to open door we ignore him for 5 mins. then my cousin got out of car walked towards him, and the dude reached for his pocked so my cousin punched him, they fought for a couple seconds i jumped in and grabbed him from the back. my cousin got 3-4 hits on him and he got knocked out.
We moved the car around the block, parked it and went back to a bar close by. as we were leaving the cops caught us by the car and arrested us.
im 23 my cousin 25, the dude around 26-28. he had a fracture to the face ( nose and maybe jaw, and some other things ) so he was hurt pretty bad I DONT KNOW HOW !!! the whole fight lasted 10 seconds.
There's a camera that recorded the whole thing.
Do i stand a chance ? self defence? we werent looking for a fight, he approached us, we could have called the cops yes i know or drove off but the dude was scary as hell banging and screaming.

testosterone is a strange and wonderful thing - isn't it?
FIRST - see if you're charged
SECOND - never say ANYTHING to the cops without a lawyer!!!! NEVER.
THIRD - get a lawyer and follow his directions and advice
FORTH - look contrite like you're sorry - but don't say you're sorry unless your lawyer tells you to.
DO everything you can to stay out of the pen - and don't roll over on your cousin - that can only make it worse. Remember the cops will lie to you to get a rise out of you or get you to admit something.
DO NOT TALK TO THE COPS.
Good luck - and then clean up your act. No American should be hurting other people! We don't need this sh*t. You just had a little too much testosterone going. You can thank gawd that you guys didn't shoot the guy with some illegal gun you were carrying.

1. You got out of the Car, Instead of calling the Authorities.
2. You added and abetted a Crime, Class D. Felony Assault and Aggravated Battery.
3. You left the scene of the crime.
Intentional assault, There is No "Defense" involved in your story.
Rendering a victim unable to defend himself. Intended to cause serious physical injury beyond a reasonable doubt, by your own statement.
It is the Judges decision if you go to prison and/or pay a fine.
You are also most likely subject to a sizeable Civil Suit as well.
You hanged yourself, my man... Probably too late, but:
Don’t talk to police, 5th amendment.

It sounds like self defense to me, the way you tell it.
You might have handled it better, but that is not necessarily a crime.
Yeah, you should have called police first. But that's not a crime either, as far as I know.
It is the District Attorney's office that decides whether to bring you to trial.
The camera should help.
I wonder whether the guy was in another fight after you left? Or whether he has a criminal record already.
I would not be surprised, he being so aggressive.
