Can I have a timed bathroom extractor wired to light without 3 pole isolator switch?

    It is done all the time, but maybe not in public restrooms. You can not use a dimmer switch. You should buy the highest rated switch possible. When extractors are turned off they throw up a higher voltage which might cause your light to flash bright when turned off. This phenomenon might shorten the life of your light bulb. But do it and see how it goes. Call it a learning curve. Or see if you can get a DPDT switch and put the light on one pole and the fan on the other.
