Bleeding before period?

Ok, so I know no one can tell me what this is for sure because, well, nobody knows. I am looking for opinions or people that have had this happen. I am due to have my period in a week and today I got a gush of bright red blood. Then very light bleeding the rest of the day. Usually my periods are light and the blood is dark or brownish. Any thoughts?

    Early periods

    Either your period came early or it was spotting. Relax.

    It's probably that your period is just early this cycle, no worries!
