Various reasons why this might be true if it is genetic. It may confer a selective advantage, like the menopause. It probably would be polygenic, so it would only happen if several genes were inherited at once. Or, it might be recessive and not expressed very often, or occur as a mutation. However, I don't think it is genetic. For instance, men with older brothers are more likely to be gay and that doesn't sound like genetics to me.

How many times have I seen this sort of question here. Why do you think it is gay people having gay kids. Gay kids come from straight parents so there will always be young gay people as long as a few straight parents have a faulty gay causing gene to pass on. Some people were not as lucky as you and got imperfect genes. Just be grateful it didn't happen to you so stop all this anti gay bullsh!t as all you are doing is showing off your ignorance.

Gay is in the gene? Damn, I've been gay all long didn't know that it was a gene.

There are gay from the start just that back in the part century, they hide in closet to fear of being stone to death by homophobic. So it is not an extinct

Have you not considered the possibility that there could be a lot more bisexual and gay people in society than any of us realise.

A realistic possibility when you reflect on how today on the surface there seems to be a lot more gay and bi people than ever before yet we know in reality people are not just suddenly evolving to seek out the lifestyle.

Yet what does confuse me is why you even care.

If jumping into bed with a person of your sex is of no interest to you, that is fine with me, it's not for me to tell you who should be in your bed, and yet for some reason your sit around contemplating what others are doing in the bedroom. That truly is not the sign of a healthy (stable) person.

If being gay is in your genes, how come most bisexual Romans became heterosexuals after Christianity was legalized in the 4th century AD by Constantine?

Homosexuality = cultural influence. Nothing else.

The Romans stopped having their wild gay orgies because that was no longer a part of their culture.

Anyone with an education knows that nobody is born gay or straight. Sexuality is a result of your upbringing.

In fact, the ancient Romans and Greeks didn't even have a sense of sexuality. They just identified as either dominant or submissive. They humped whatever the hell they wanted (including children).

Being gay is NOT in your genes, AND it is not a choice. Do some research.

Because the gay genes got passed down the generations due to loads of advantages they bring to the table.

You know this how? Were you there? And perhaps they didn't want to be put to the sword by a maniacal emperor who saw fit to tamper with the teachings of Christ.

as an exgay I can assure you that its now " in your genes" I was aggressively recruited by an older homosexual at the age of 11 years old.

and aggressive recruitment can also explain who the behavior has not faded out as it would have if I were genetic.
