Did I get the right prescription for my glasses?

My first eye doctor was an old fashioned doctor where he didn't use all those fancy technologies as most eye doctors do today. He retired and I found a new doctor. The new doctor made me look into a machine called an autorefractor. Then the doctor did the eye pressure and after that the refraction test. During the refraction test he would ask which lense is better 1 or 2, 3 or 4 and so on. It came to the point where there was no difference between the the two lenses but it was still blurry. I told the doctor that it was still blurry but he still made me read what the letters were and it was so obvious I was struggling to read. He just told me to try to read it. He gave me a new prescription and now I'm waiting to get my new glasses. What if I can't see with the new glasses?

Well I suggest that when you get your new glasses you first give your eyes a good chance to adjust to the new prescription. It is very normal when you get a prescription change for your eyes to take several days to adjust. I can tell you going back after only wearing your glasses a couple days the y will tell you to continue wearing them for at least 10 days to 2 weeks and then if you still aren'r seeing properly to return. So wear your new glasses for that long and then if your glasses aren't completely comfortable to your eyes go back. At that point they will re exam your eyes and make any changes to your glasses at no cost to you. Your not going to do any harm to your eyes by wearing your glasses for 2 weeks even if the prescription is wrong. If adfter the 2 second try you still have problems then you might want to ask for the refund of your money for everything including the eye exam. Then of course find a new doctor.

An optometrist can find the best lenses to correct your eyesight, but if glasses are not enough, you may need to see an ophthalmologist.
