Yes he screwed up, people need to let it go. We all have done something bad in our life's that we are not proud of, we are human being born to make mistakes, only we don't have national television scrutinizing us. The only way we learn our lessons sometimes is to go through it and deal with the consequences and be a better and stronger person.
I think he has guts to get on dancing with the stars, if it was me I would go in hiding for a while hoping that people will eventually forget about it
