is this racist?

is it racist to say to a French person who is quite obviously speaking English, "sorry I don t speak French." quietly to yourself when they ve walked away?

    'Racist' is the wrong word to use in such a case. 'Xenophobic' is the correct word. It is not logical to imply that the French people are a race. They are a nation.
