How come Ukraine is doing so amazingly well in the Paralympics?
I have not seen or heard any comments about their great performance in so many sports. They're ahead of the USA with 38 golds to the USA's 36 as I post this.
And Y!A does not have a Paralympics category! Shame!

The performance of Ukraine really isn't as surprising as you might think. Their medal haul has increased every Games since they first entered competition in 1996. They were 4th in gold medals in both Beijing and London, where they finished with 1 more gold than the US.
Ukraine would appear to be a team that has benefitted from the absence of Russia, particularly in swimming. Lin London, 42 of Russia's 102 total medals were won in the pool, while 44 of Ukraine's 84 medals were in swimming. In Rio, Ukraine has thus far won 65 swimming medals, out of 110 total. Of course there are other nations which have benefitted from Russia being banned.

I am pretty sure that Yahoo Answers does not have a sub category for the Paralympics because they don't think there is enough interest in it.
