How do I get myself emancipated?
Okay I'm 16 years old, working, making my own money and can drive. I moved 2 years ago not by my decision but my parents decision. I never like the move because I miss my old friends a lot more hearing them talk about how great school is and having to deal with my school where I hated everyone because I didn't never knew anyone. Even the friends I have now I don't even like. I would like to move back down there but I can't because I'm under 18 which got me to thinking about getting emancipated I want to do this because I'm not done writing that chapter of my life yet. I never had closure on a lot of things like saying goodbye to my friends or the last few days of where me and my friends always hang out at because they decided it would be better to put a police station there. This is something I need to do to finally have closure on something even if it is not a lot I just need it really badly.

You have to show that you can completely support yourself such as work and earn enough so that you're able to live on your own such as paying rent, utilities, making a car payment, insurance, gas, food all on YOUR OWN WITH NO HELP FROM AN-NY-BOD-DY. If you can't do that you can't become emancipated. Just because you miss your old friends and you didn't like the move is a really childish and immature reason to try to get emancipated. You sound more like you're a spoiled SIX year old rather than a sixteen year old kid. And you don't "need it" really badly you WANT IT really badly, yet another sign of you not being mature enough to become emancipated LITTLE ONE

As with 99.99% of people that ask online, YOU don't qualify. You actually just proved you have ZERO understanding of what emancipation is, and couldn't handle emancipation if granted.
The FIRST criteria to even be CONSIDERED for emancipation is that you ALREADY support yourself 100%.

First you need to save up a couple of hundred thousand to pay your lawyers. Emancipation is not only super rare, its can be a long drawn out process. Think about Ariel Winter. It took her 3 years, and she was making big bucks.
I suggest asking your parents to allow you to visit instead over holiday break.

To get emancipated you have to be able to convince a judge that you can live completely independently while being in school full time. That means not only making enough money to pay all of your bills but living in your own place and doing all of the housekeeping, cooking and other chores. Good luck.

You can go live with your sister. All that is required is your parents permission and the schools permission. And getting emancipated won't help you with the schools permission.

how much money do you make and could you also get a job and place to stay there? It is doubtful you could get this done. Why don't you just ask your parents if you can go back for a week and say goodbye or something.

moving is not a reason to get emancipated in the eyes of the court.
