Converting to Judaism and societal issues?

I was raised Christian, but for whatever reason, and please don't judge me for this, I feel my soul is Hebrew and that I won't have peace until I do whatever it takes to be a proud Jewish man, like I said, please don't judge me, I don't think this is some silly thing or an identity issue, but simply a matter of religious preference and me simply preferring Judaism, what I'm asking is this: is what I'm saying right now socially acceptable? Are people who convert to Judaism "real Jewish people" , is it something to scoff at that I'm "Jewish" but have technically non white skin although my skin tone is close to white? Will religious teachers work with me or refuse? And many more.

    Just go DO it!

If GOD exists, and if in HIS opinion, you are doing the best you can about your spirituality, that is what counts

    .

And if some Christians say you have REJECTED Jesus, and deserve human contempt NOW, and Eternal Torment LATER, that's THEIR opinion, not God's.

And if some Jews (or even non-Jews) say that you cannot be a REAL Jew unless you were born to a Jewish mother, that, again, is their opinion, not God's.

SOME people just ENJOY being 5HITS to other people, and will find an excuse, ANY excuse, to treat you badly.

There are people who convert to Judiasm, but first of all, one can't be raised Christian. Christian means Christ-Follower. It is an active decision, one you never consciously made yourself, so it's no wonder you want to go off to a religion that binds you in a self-righteous list of tasks. It definitely will make you feel like a better person, but you are no closer to being saved and brought to heaven. Only through Jesus Christ and putting your trust and faith in him by seeking him will you ever be saved.

Since you were raised in religion, before you go all gung-ho into a new religion, study who God says he is in the bible. I've no doubt you've read it before. I just know that Jesus says "seek and you will find" and if you haven't found, then you obviously haven't sought him. You can tell me here you have and that's fine, but when you stand before God, and he knows your mind and heart, can you claim such? He knows how hard you've sought for him. Take some time, sit down and read the bible trying to understand who he says he is. Test God's spirit and then see if he is who he says he is. Do this and you will find him. We are to love the Jewish people, not become one of them. We are to become Christ followers, not followers of the law that Jesus died to do away with so that we can live in grace in god's sight.

Jews are not a "race" -- Jews are a "nation" - the "nation of the children of Israel"

    and as every healthy nation,

    we have "citizenship by adoption"

If you are sincere and you go properly and fully through the process - then you will be as much a "child of Israel" as any other Jew.

Regarding skin color. Not an issue:

Jews have accepted sincere converts ever since Abraham and Sarah "made souls in Haran" -- over 300 people.

The most famous convert is Ruth -- who was eventually the grandmother of King David -

the King who is regarded by Jews as the progenitor of the eternal rightful Jewish kingly dynasty.

"is what I'm saying right now socially acceptable?" - Yes

"Are people who convert to Judaism "real Jewish people" - Yes. Judaism is a religion. Everyone can convert. There may be a small number of Jews who won't view you as "real Jewish" but don't bother yourself with that. The overwhelming majority will welcome you.

"is it something to scoff at that I'm "Jewish" but have technically non white skin although my skin tone is close to white?" No. Jews come from all races/backgrounds/colours. There's a black american rapper now called 'Nissim Baruch black' who converted to Judaism and now lives in Israel.

"Will religious teachers work with me or refuse?" Most will work with you. Just remember a rabbi will do all he can to persuade you to not convert when you first approach him. He just wants to know you're committed to it.

All I can say is follow your heart. The socially acceptable part is irrelevant. Do what you think is right.

Jewish means the people who are descendants of Judah. It is impossible non Jewish convert to be Jewish.
