Can't Break my Hymen?
Hi! I'm a teenager and my boyfriend and I have been waiting to have sex.. we have waited a long time now and finally decided that we can. Keep in mind that I am very nervous as it will most likely hurt (we are both aware). When he was finally going to put it in me... He couldn't. I mean he couldn't as in he would push but it wouldn't really go in far at all. I'm pretty sure it was my hymen. I told him to push really hard but nothing was happening so we gave up. I am just wondering if maybe I have a tough hymen? Maybe my vagina is just very small? I don't know; I just want to know so that next time I can tell him something useful (like push waaay harder maybe). I don't know if this helps at all, but I could never put a tampon in either.

Sex will only hurt/causes bleeding if:
1) You are not relaxed enough.
2) You are not lubricated enough.
3) You are not aroused enough.
He can't push through because your muscles are contracting because you are so nervous and not aroused. It is not your hymen preventing him from entering. Your hymen is VERY easily torn, in fact, it probably is already torn.
And, no, sex should NEVER hurt. Not the first or the last time. It will only hurt for the above reasons.

Well, one can have a variant of hymen which is more like a sheet covering the opening than one with a hole in it.
Have him take a good look at what is down there and report back to you.
If you do have a cribiform or imperforate hymen, then you might need to have your ON/GYN cut it for you.
It's also preferabe to have him gently finger you and stretch your lady garden. He should start with one finger, then once you are ready for it, use two.
Once you no longer are having pain from his two fingers, then move onto intercourse.
