I just pre ordered Return to Arkham, and I wanted to know; is Arkham City one of those games where you can just jump in and do some random ****, or does it strictly follow a path? Thanks

both. it's story driven but you can jump around and beat the crap out of people for the heck of it. there are also a few boring side quests like finding stuff.

The game has an open world with things to collect and a handful of side missions, but a lot of content is locked off by the story. As in, you may need certain abilities or gadgets to access certain areas that you don't get until later on.
