Why do some paranormal skeptics believe in gods?

Just wondering. There's as much empirical evidence of ghosts as there are gods; there isn't any whatsoever.

Not trying to be offensive here, but how can you say that ghosts/spirits don't exist, but still believe that gods exist?

There is certainly some crossover between skepticism and atheism, but one doesn't need to be an atheist to be a skeptic.

I know someone who identifies as a "skeptic" and is also a Christian. This person knows full well that belief in God is irrational, but that's the point - they are aware it's irrational.

The real problem is when people think that belief in the paranormal and/or supernatural gods are rational beliefs.

I personally don't know any. But perhaps some people that don't believe in ghosts take this position because its consistent with their religion. For example, most Christians don't believe in ghosts.

There is a lot more to paranormal than just ghosts. I get your point and agree that it does seem irrational that they don't believe in paranormal yet believe in an invisible entity to the point that they can say they actually love him. That kind of brain is eve more screwed than a sceptic's

Some people don't believe that ghosts are on the earth just because of their religious beliefs, they debunk ghost sightings because they think that the souls of dead people are all in heaven or hell not lurking around in your closet, or that ghost you spot is really a demon just pretending to be your dear deceased Aunt Amelia.

The same way you can say ghosts do but gods don't
