Maybe she doesn't see it as a threat. Chances are, if you know about how she chats with other guys, she doesn't seem to be jealous like other girls, or she thinks you're too spineless to care what she does. Either way, when you start doing it, see how she reponds. This way, you can tell what side of the spectrum she is on.

I think that if you think not talking to members of the opposite gender just because you have a girlfriend or boyfriend has anything to do with respect, then you need to work on your definitions a little bit.
