American horror story: roanoke?

ive never been interested in AHS but ive been seeing promos for "my Roanoke nightmare" for weeks and it actually seems interesting to me but I need to know,

do I need to see any previous seasons of AHS to watch 'roanoke'?

from what I can tell each season is like a different series but I know its had some of the same castmembers so I wanna know for sure, if I start watching 'roanoke' without seeing any previous seasons will there be any missing info or etc?

No, you dont need to watch past seasons. Each season is it's own story, using mostly the same cast of actors, but playing different parts in a different setting. For example, last season, Sarah Paulson played the ghost of a junkie who was trapped inside a hotel. This season she's playing a woman who moves to North Carolina with her husband and has to face some terrifying experiences.

You don't need to see them, no. But sometimes they do cross over a bit, so in Freakshow it has a Asylum featured in it. Hotel has the murder house brought into a story line.

The new season is great so far, you don't have to see previous seasons, it's an Anthology series, so a new story, new setting every season.

You should be fine. The cast members play different characters every season.
