I grew up in the middle of the whole Bill Graham era here in the SF bay area, From the shows at the Winterland ballroom to the epic Day on the Green shows, Hell I've seen Pink Floyd 4 times, Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Rolling Stones twice, Name them from the era and I've seen them, Ones that stood out? I'd have to say PF at the Cow Palace WYWH/DSOTM tour back in 76, The Band The Last Waltz show at Winterland , The Who at Day on the Green, Joe Walsh and Barnstorm at Winterland, and just for the I was there thing The Sex Pistols at Winterland, They totally sucked but I was there,

I can't name 5. Really. Most live rock/pop music I've encountered- club or theater or arena- has been improperly amplified, with dubious at best sound mixing. Most of the audiences have been lame and/or drunk and stoned. The rock/pop live music experience is a truly overrated one in my opinion. (Additionally, while none of the live jazz or classical I've thus far encountered has been especially bad, none of it has been particularly memorable, either.)

Now, that said... there have been two acts who I've seen who've put on really good shows w/ decent sound (even if the audience in some instances still sucked).

    1. The Violent Femmes during their "Why Do Birds Sing?" tour. (Saw them twice.)

    2. The Jayhawks during their "Rainy Day Music" tour. (Gary Louris was amazing live... a truly underrated guitarist in my opinion.)

My top 5 wish list? (1 and 2 are set in stone, 3-5 could probably change from day to day.)

    1. Miles Davis anytime between 1956 or so and 1975. Love all the permutations of his music during that time.

    2. Anything Paul Motian was involved with as a solo artist/leader, right up until his death in 2011.

    3. Miroslav Vitous-era Weather Report.

    4. Pixies circa 1991/1992. (I was supposed to have seen them on the "Trompe le Monde" tour, but it didn't happen.)

    5. John Fahey.

No particular order, years even decades apart.

Pink Floyd - saw every album played

Fleetwood Mac - Stevie was a friend, went to both Cleveland and Pittsburgh shows all their albums

Framton, Giles & Seger - Outdoors

Santana - In a 50-60 seat little lounge

Joe Walsh - played FREE shows often for us local rockers

Still have ALL the ticket stubs, with the name of the girl I took with me.written on them

Bands I would like to see :

    Rising Appalachia (a priority)

    Delta moon

    The Devil Makes Three

    Willy & The Bandits

I missed White Denim ( unfortunately the drummer along with the guy I wanted to see Austin Jenkins both left the band )

I would add in their place Little Feat with Lowell George and Richie Hayward ( the REAL Little Feat band )

Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi (with DT and most of the Allman bros.), BB King (1970ish), Emmylou Harris (Leo Kottke opening), and maybe .38 Special (Johnny Winter opening).

Living or dead? The original Allman Bros., AC/DC, Freddie King. Jeff Healey, and maybe The Doors.

Oh, yeah, this guy...Did I mention I'm into guitar?:

I've been to FOB and last warped tour. At warped I saw FIR, WTK, NFG, and Sum 41. I'm going to TØP in January. My wishlist would be to see MCR I know they broke up but it would be amazing to be able to see them. I'd also like to see PTV and Suicide Silence.
