How long can you leave thawed meat in the fridge?

I put some frozen chicken tenders in the fridge to thaw 4 days ago and the center is still kind of frozen. Would I be able to leave it in there for 1 or two more days or is it already bad?

It's in the 'iffy' zone. Give it a good smell and feel, and if it looks alright, it probably is.

Food should only take about 8 hours to thaw in the fridge - if it's been 4 days, their not going to get any less frozen - you may have a cold spot in your fridge.

No more than 3 days usually, without fixing, or freezing food. However, if it is still frozen in the center, it could be safe to fix, then bag up the rest for same rule on fridge, or freeze.

If they feel cold and smell ok, then it would be ok. Just make sure you cook it well.

Chicken and fish - you need to be far more careful about these than red meat.

2 - 3 days at the most before cooking it, any longer it will start to discolor or start to smell.
