Possible implications of "Alien Disclosure".?
What will really be the ramifications of a credible government presenting undeniable evidence of intelligent alien contact. Without making any assumptions of the possible intentions of these extraterrestrials how would humanity receive this information, how would we (humanity) react as a whole?

There is no such thing as "undeniable evidence" as we can already witness in the centuries old and ongoing war between religion and science, and the plethora of moon landing deniers, flat earthers, and various other conspiracy nuts. There would be an endless debate over the validity of that conclusion.
The only undeniable evidence is when the ETs take up residence on our planet. Then we would see social dislocation and disorientation, racial animosity and prejudice - so nothing would really change.

There will always be the sense of cultural shock, especially with many religions who thought it was God who created us in his own image, who created them? One of the EXTREMELY FEW signs of intelligence from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (though G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra was many times worse).
As well with dealing with such unknowns, there will also be rampant paranoia as to asking what will the aliens do to us. It doesn't matter if they are just arriving or if they've been coming here for thousands of years.
Remember the Hale-Bop comet and the Heaven's Gate suicides? Many cults will start to worship these aliens as some form of god, and will make grandiose assumptions as to how to appease those gods. One episode of Robot Chicken, though meant more as a gag, and a damn funny one, is about as realistic it could be with the Flintstones meeting with the Great Gazoo.

I also suspect that there will be a power play with many of the nations as to wanting to side with the aliens out of a sense of self-preservation, or in hopes of gaining an advantage over others. Not to mention fear of others joining them in which aggression could take over.

If they're not in our solar system, I honestly reckon most people won't change much. They'll take it for granted that we can't visit them, they can't visit us, and it takes a decade or more just to ask a question and get an answer. People will be all over it for a couple of weeks and then just carry on with life as normal.

Well it is very likely there is life somewhere else. If/when it is discovered, people will get hysterical and others will carry on as normal. Governments will have plans to implement should non earth life be acknowledged as a credible entity.

well, it would probably tend to make people more receptive to 'global unity' .. which sounds good on the surface but in a nutshell what that means is your nation with its constitution and bill of rights is traded in for a non-elected governing body consisting of god only knows .. the potential for deception using the alien card is high is my point ...

After the initial sensation, and some people who are already mentally disturbed going spla, the rest of us would eat dinner, go to bed and go to work the next day.
None of this changes the necessity to eat, sleep etc.
