Are people really afraid of clowns?

I use to think people were just kidding about that. Now it is on the News about scary clowns.

Are people afraid of mimes also?

    It's not that I'm afraid of them, they're just creepy. But I guess there are quite a few people with the clown phobia (don't remember what it's called)

    Well, they be scary like Pennywise the clown : (

    If that were to happen or certain people were that psychotic then yeah.....it is scary.

    Why do you think there are clown sightings heard in some forests in South Carolina?

    Well I remember being at mcdonalds and some kids were scared of the Ronald McDonald clown mascot.

    I've never been completely terrified of them but I don't like them at the same time. They just look really creepy somehow.
