how do I add hp computer to my wireless network?

I gave my 2010 compaq to my sister in law who lives with my wife and I. is it wireless ready? if so, how do I connect it to our wireless network? we currently have my wife's laptop and our big screen tv connected

    Ok, I'll assume your question stops at the word 'connected'.

    Most, if not all laptops, come with a Wi-Fi capability. That's one of the main factors in buying a laptop over a desktop. But, if you're still not sure, grab her laptop and get into the Device Manager window. Once there, expand the Network Adapters window and look for a Wi-Fi adapter. If you don't see one listed, update your post with what you DO see, and we'll go from there.

    If you do see a Wi-Fi adapter listed, then you probably just need to find the toggle switch that turns on the Wi-Fi function. If you tell us the MODEL of your HP/Compaq laptop we just might be able to find a User Guide for your machine and help you figure out how to enable the Wi-Fi adapter.
