Could a foreign country launch a EMP across our country and not even notice it happening?
I know what your probably going to say but, I watched a end of the world video. I know, i know. But I won't like it was successful in scary me. It basically talked about the time when (Russia) will launch a EMP nuke that will officially wipe all electronics and bump the USA back to the 1800's. No more hospitals, medicine, weapons, phone, any sort of communication. I'll spare you the rest of the details.
Basically just wanting to know if something like that is even possible. Would our government really not be able to detect such a thing?

An EMP is a nuke detonated in the atmosphere.
It will knock out any electric circuit (including computers, cell phones and some vehicles that aren't specifically hardened against it.
We'd definitely notice the slit second after it detonated by everything ...stopping.
It won't be Russia, it'll probably be N. Korea or Iran (to thank 0bama for giving them nukes).

There is so much you do not understand. In the movie or what ever it was, true all electronics go down because the device steals at the speed of light. Any device that can or could be launch would be detected and taken out. You can blow up an atomic device without it going off.

NORAD keeps watch of our skies and once a thread by air comes close to our borders, fighter jets are scrambles.
