Are the new infra red heating devices for our homes safe?

Back in the 70's and 80's they sold infra red heating devices that if left on for days at a time could sometimes result in a fire. Now they have a lot of safty features. Check them out carefully before you buy them. Follow instructions exactly. All heating devices heat- that is what you are asking them to do and so they may be able to overheat. Use them carefully.
