Muslim but i don't pray?
Muslim but i don't pray but i still believe that there is only one God and Prophet Muhammad is the last and final messenger and that not praying is a great sin. Does this still make me a hypocrite?

In some people's perspectives you would be seen as a ''hypocrite'' however I do not have a religion but my boyfriend is Muslim and he prays 2 or 3 times a day. I have had him explain to me before why he does this, and if he has a choice? His reply to me was ''I pray to God because I feel a stronger connection to him, I am making sure that he knows I am always asking for his guidance and his help in every difficult situation''. He said that it was optional to God's followers because God treats everyone equally but he likes to pray because he has been brought up this way.

Salam,
The Prophet (s) said the one who doesn't pray is a disbeleiver (based on one hadith)
Another hadith states that the barrier between belief and disbelief is the prayer.
There is a difference of opinion, some scholars will still view you as a Muslim, a sinful Muslim who will require punishment in the grave, day of judgment, and hell before entering Jannah.
The other opinion is you are a kafir.
I agree with the second opinion, the sahaba did not think that any sin made someone a kafir except the leaving off of prayer.
You have nothing at all whatsoever to do with Islam if you don't pray. There is a hadith that states the last man to come out of hell will have marks of PROSTRATION on his head, indicating he did pray. So this is even more evidence, he will receive the lowest rank in the hereafter, the like of 10 Earths is his reward.
The good news is you aren't dead yet and you can change this. Sin weakens faith, so you are losing faith with every prayer you miss (Allah ta'ala willing). You are moving further and further away from Allah ta'ala. Along with the fact that the Prophet (s) said (and this is in sahih bukhari) that one who misses Asr prayer is like one who lost his whole family and property. Another hadith indicates the one who misses Asr due to negligence will not have any of his deeds accepted between his last Asr prayer and the current one, all his good deeds are void (based on the fatwa (or fatwas, I do not recall) I read). So nothing of your work is being rewarded, you are getting nothing from it, nothing is going to your credit, it is like a mirage you see in the desert, you see it and run towards it but it keeps getting further and further away. That is like your so called Islam, it is a mirage, a fake. Another example would be like a mountain, you see a mountain of all the good deeds you did while you thought you were getting reward from them, but because you didn't pray, it turns into dust, little tiny particles and you are trying to collect those particles but you will get nothing.
You are not a Muslim if you don't pray, I think I made the point.
Prayer helps us increase faith and avoid sin, and it wipes out all our minor sins between each fard prayer, and we get huge rewards for prayer, and we fulfill our purpose of worshiping Allah ta'ala. Many other benefits.

No. A hypocrite is someone who says he believes 'there is only one God and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last and final messenger' but does not actually believe that.
You're not a hypocrite, you're a sinner. But don't worry, I'm a sinner too, we're all sinners. Just TRY to pray and repent for your sins.
You may not be a hypocrite but, if you don't pray, you'll spend a very long time in hell.
So please TRY to pray and repent for your sins.
Don't believe AbdulMalik,
you're not a disbeliever as long as you truely believe that there is no God except Allah and prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the final messenger of Allah.

Really think about it for 1 minute...
Do you honestly believe an extra-dimensional being (god), with infinite power, creates an incomprehensibly large multiverse but is obsessively preoccupied with the affairs of a bunch of glorified monkeys, flying through space on a rock? While the same monkeys self-inflict genocide in competition with each other on the exact definition of something they all at least agree is beyond their own capacity to define.

If you do not pray, you are a disbeliever. It doesn't matter what you claim to be, you are a disbeliever if you don't pray. See link in comment below ↓

Yes, don't believe me, but believe the Prophet:
Thawbān narrated that the Messenger of Allāh said, “Between the slave, and disbelief and faith is the prayer, so whoever has left it has committed Shirk.” (Narrated by At-Tabarānī; Sahīh At-Targhīb Wat-Tarhīb)
“Between the slave and ‘Al-Shirk’ (polytheism) and ‘Al-Kufr’ is leaving the Salāt.” (Sahih Muslim)

Honestly no one give's a damn. That too you are saying to those people(majority of people) who without asking any questions just like robos offer 5 times namaz and read the quran without understanding it.They just believe whatever their cleric says.

It's no sin. I have a hard time believing that god would be so insecure that he needs us to call every day.
