I'm assuming you have been to a Chiropractor if you have been to the other doctors? If not, I would suggest you see one. Especially one that has a holistic approach.
They may order x rays to see what the problem is for themselves and give you a treatment plan.
For example, I had an issue with my S.I. joint and s5 and to avoid it worsening I had to go to the Chiropractor twice a week. It was so bad I couldn't stand straight for more than a minute or two and sometimes I could barely make it to the next appt. This was all happening when I had to meet my obligations of still going to work and playing on a sports team.
Before my adjustment I would get ultrasound therapy with added heat therapy. Then I would get my adjustment but while I still had muscle tightness and pain he would massage in a strong menthol cream. I was very impress and lucky with this doctor's thoroughness compared to my past Chiropractors. So don't be afraid to try a new one if you're not satisfied with the treatment.
I was also given 1 hour massages at one appointment a week in office with a massage therapist because my back muscles were over compensating for my discomfort in other positions.
I was told to do certain exercises to strengthen my core muscles.
This is why I recommended a chiropractor that has a holistic approach. They will give you a well rounded/full body treatment plan.
Fast forward a month. I'm no longer in pain. I work 12 hour night shift... so after 3 in a row my back can get pretty tired but no where near where I was. No pain really.
We had a reevaluation and went down to one adjustment a week. I was a little scared to do this but my doctor said, "no one should be seeing a chiropractor twice a week for a long period of time. If they do there is something else going on". I appreciate the honesty. At the end of the year we'll re-evaluate again.
I hope you find a solution. I would never wish back/joint/nerve pain on anyone. Not even my worse enemy. Good luck.
