Has anyone had both a root canal and a tooth yanked some time in their life?

I mean at different times. I need a root canal, but I think I'd rather have it yanked. How long does each take, and how long does each hurt? I've talked to my dentist. He says a yanked tooth hurts longer. It's the very back molar on the upper right. I just want as many opinions as I can get. Thanks

I had 8 molars removed when I was younger. The surgery took about 2 hours and I was left with bloody cotton in my mouth for about 3 days. I remember it didn't hurt so much as feel very very sore. And incredibly itchy. (note: you can't scratch bloody holes in your mouth)

I imagine getting one tooth pulled won't be so bad. You'll probably have cotton for less than a day and it won't be sore for too long. I would rather do that than get a root canal. Sometimes those things aren't always successful. Pulling is faster and better.

No pain only problem is you feel a prick sensations once or twice then lot of pushing and pulling but worst part is try and get you breath whilst the suction tube is constantly flush water in and out

When you feel slightest pain you need to tell the dentist

I only had a toof taken out it leaves a very painful after effect and you have to eat soft foods. Can't use a straw to drink your favorite drink. ugh. Best of luck.

I'm getting my entire bottom row pulled out (I have teeth problems) and most of it is done. It doesn't take very long, and hey numb it so it doesn't hurt.
