If plants begin to consume lesser CO2 than they do right now, what would happen?

If plants consumed less CO2 they would not produce as much Oxygen for us to breath. This would probably result in the entire nation quite quickly dying due to lack of oxygen.

Carbon dioxide is required to produce glucose (as seen in Calvin Cycle)
If less amount of glucose (substrate of respiration) is produced then less amount of ATP is synthesised during respiration.
If less amount of ATP is synthesised, metabolic activities of plant will badly affected.
Because of this reason only C4 plants are twice as efficient than C3 plants.
