Sims 4 (PC) - Any cure for the freeze that happens when my Sim kids and teens are doing homework and extra credit?
Several times when my household's 3 teens and 1 child were working on their homework and/or extra credit, the entire household will go into veeeery slow motion, almost complete standstill (the game itself is not frozen as I can go to other screens) and clicking on their queued activities to stop them doesn't make the icons go away or change the frozen/very slow Sims. Turning on cheat modes and resetting the Sims doesn't change anything either, except it stops the frozen activity.
This has happened both when there were friends in the house chatting and doing stuff, and when it was only the family there. My computer has 16 GB of RAM, so memory isn't a problem. Any idea what to do about this? Any quick fixes? It eventually sorts itself out, but it takes awhile for that to happen, and it's irritating when it happens nearly every time there is homework being done.

Yes, there has always been a problem with the homework thing, especially when it's a group thing (multitasking). It can help to turn the online option off in-game (in the game options). Specifically, make sure you untick the following options: Online Notifications, Auto-Reconnect, Share User Data. Some have also had to untick Online Features Access even though they use the gallery a lot in-game. It seems it can cause freezing or lagging (game time problems) in several different areas; homework being a big one.
There has always been a problem with using the online features, even in Sims 3 with Showtime (very glitchy for some as much of it was based on using the in-game Online features). No, they've never fixed it as it seems some computers can handle it, and some can't.
It seems to happen more when there are maybe more than 3(?) Sims doing it at once (a group or too much multitasking?). Sometimes it's easier to have only a couple of them do it at once instead of all of them, or maybe even separately.
There are also a couple of mods that can cause that problem, like Zerbu's Go To School mod.
