    I'd just say, "THANK YOU", then keep my mouth shut. There's not a lot more you can answer when someone won't engage with you.

    If you ever want to make sure you don't offend your girlfriend, treat her like royalty. For example, say, "Settle down, princess." Or "calm down, your royal highness".

    Ignore them...I usually ignore people like that because they just want a reaction
