Yes Reagan cut taxes for the rich and spent a bunch of money building a un needed large army to look big and bad. We are still paying for the benefits on those vets that really did nothing but march on the parade ground.
Bush started two wars so he could make money from his contractor businesses and steal a ton of tax money in the confusion. We still are fighting and paying for that and will be paying those vet benefits for another 60 years.

Every President in the last 60 years had been adding to their debt. Clinton managed 1 year of surplus due to Internet bubble.
